The scientific journal Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproduction has been edited since 2007. Scientific articles, resulting from own studies, as well as literature surveys, are published after mandatory preliminary reviewing. The journal also publishes announcements of congresses, conferences, symposiums and other events in the field of obstetrics, gynecology and reproduction, Russian and foreign scientific news in women’s health. Some publications are dedicate to the continuous professional education and historical aspects of obstetrics and gynecology.
The journal is included in the «List of leading peer-reviewed journals and editions of "HAC" since 2010, present in the Russian Universal Scientific Electronic Library (RUSEL) elibrary.ru and is included in the data base of the Russian Scientific Citing Index (RSCI), реer-reviewed by the All-Russian Institute of the Scientific and Technical Information at the Russian Academy of Sciences (RISTI RAS) and is filed with the reference system for periodic and continued editions “Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory”. The two years impact factor RSCI in 2014 was 0,794.
Chief editors of the journal were academician of RAS V.N. Serov and doctor of medicine, prof. I.О. Маkarov. Nowadays the chief editor of the journal is the correspondent member of RAS А.D. Маkatsaria – head of the chair of obstetrics and gynecology at I.M. Sechenov First MSMU, Vice-president of the Russian Society of obstetricians-gynecologists.
Lately the membership of the editorial board has been considerably expanded, mainly at the expense of included foreign experts, each of whom is a recognized expert in obstetrics and gynecology. So, the editorial board comprises the President of the Global Association of Perinatal Medicine, prof. А. Аntsaklis (Greece), general secretary of the Austrian Society of Perinatal Medicine, prof. K. Dadak (Аustria), director of Yan Donald Inter-University School for medical ultrasonic diagnostics in obstetrics and gynecology, prof. А. Kuriak (Croatia), Director of the Mother and Fetus Medicine Center of Cornwell University, President of the International Society “Fetus as Patient”, prof. F.А. Chervenak (USА), professor of Haifa Technological University B. Brenner (Israel), other prominent scholars from Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Armenia.
The high level of materials is achieved due to the institute of editing of scientific articles, as well as due to the constructive work of editorial board members, comprising prestigious scientists, clinicians and healthcare organizers.
