We also review the data on melatonin acting as a highly active antioxidant. While using melatonin as a metabolic supplement in IVF programs, its positive effect on oocyte morphology and quality of fertilization, embryo division was observed. Moreover, we also highlight the results of studies examining melatonin-related effects on quality of fertilization and embryo division after adding it to culture medium. Such effects demonstrated dose-depended pattern. Taking into account the data of the analyzed publications, adding exogenous melatonin to culture medium may represent a new strategy for personalized approach to improve outcome of IVF programs. Its effectiveness should be further investigated and considered for introduction within the framework of pregravid preparation.</p>
Эффективность его применения должна быть дополнительно исследована и рассмотрена к внедрению в рамках прегравидарной подготовки.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>мелатонин</kwd><kwd>экстракорпоральное оплодотворение</kwd><kwd>ооциты</kwd><kwd>оксидативный стресс</kwd><kwd>антиоксидант</kwd><kwd>оплодотворение</kwd><kwd>овуляция</kwd><kwd>фолликулярная жидкость</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>melatonin</kwd><kwd>in vitro fertilization</kwd><kwd>oocytes</kwd><kwd>oxidative stress</kwd><kwd>antioxidant</kwd><kwd>fertilization</kwd><kwd>ovulation</kwd><kwd>follicular fluid</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Reiter R.
