We analyzed publications of the Cochrane society, recommendations of obstetrics communities, clinical studies published in official websites and other information available to the public.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results.According to two multicenter studies conducted in Russia in 2012 and 2013 (MAGIC and MAGIC 2), magnesium deficiency was diagnosed in 81.2% and 80.9% of pregnant women, respectively. Meta-analyzes of the data published by the Cochrane society showed that an oral administration of organic magnesium salts for 3 weeks caused a significant decrease or disappearance of leg cramps in 65.5% of pregnant women (vs 5.7% with placebo). Treatment with magnesium during the period before the 25th week of pregnancy reduced the risk of complications as follows: premature births – by 27%; births of low weight babies – by 33%; mother hospitalization – by 34%; risk of spontaneous abortion – by 62%. In all the studies where pregnant women took oral magnesium medications, there was a low incidence of side effects.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion.Measures to prevent magnesium deficiency both at the stage of preparation for pregnancy and during gestation, starting from the first weeks, help avoid some complications and improves the outcomes for the fetus and the newborn.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><sec><title>Цель</title><p>Цель: определить роль дефицита магния в генезе акушерских осложнений и возможности их предотвращения с омощью органических солей магния для приема внутрь.</p></sec><sec><title>Материалы и методы</title><p>Материалы и методы. Публикации Кокрановского сообщества, рекомендации профессиональных сообществ и клинических исследований, опубликованных на официальных сайтах и в открытом доступе.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. По данным двух многоцентровых исследований, проведенных в России в 2012 и 2013 годы (MAGIC и MAGIC 2), магниевый дефицит установлен у 81,2% и 80,9% беременных, соответственно. В мета-анализах базы данных Кокрановского сообщества продемонстрировано, что прием органических солей магния при судорогах в ногах в течение 3 недель приводит к значимому уменьшению или исчезновению судорог ног у 65,5% беременных (при использовании плацебо – у 5,7%); прием магния до 25 недели беременности (по сравнению с плацебо) приводит к снижению риска осложнений: преждевременных родов – на 27%; рождения детей с низкой массой тела – на 33%; госпитализации – на 34%; угрозы прерывания беременности – на 62%. Во всех исследованиях, где беременные принимали препараты магния перорально, отмечена низкая частота побочных эффектов.</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение.
